RUSSIA THREATENS BLOCK YOUTUBE AND INSTAGRAM, WHAT CAUSE

Russia Threaten Block Youtube and Instagram Because of This Model Photo Russia threatened to block YouTube and Instagram if it did not remove the videos and photos of Oleg V. Deripaska, a businessman who was once close to former Donald Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and Deputy Prime Minister Sergey Prikhodko cruising with a female model.
The video and photos were first spread by Alexey Navalny on February 8, 2018 after being uploaded by an account called Nastya Rybka, where he mentioned that as evidence of a corrupt relationship between the aluminum conglomerate and the senior minister. Oleg Deripaska then filed a lawsuit in the town of Ust-Labinsk in the southern region of Krasnodar, Russia, where he came from. He accused Navalny of campaigning for damage to his reputation.
The court on February 9, 2018 won the demands of Deripaksa by ordering the videos and photos were removed from Instagram and YouTube accounts. "Deripaska won the Ust-Labinsk court in his home region of Krasnodar which ordered the removal of 14 Instagram posts and seven YouTube videos that violated his privacy rights," said his company spokesman, Element Element.
The Russian communications administrator, Roskomnadzor, obeyed the court order by including the photos and videos on the blacklist. Roskomnadzor also asked YouTube to remove 7 videos and ordered Instagram to remove 14 posts of the entrepreneur's photo. Both were given three business days to block it or face an investigation.

As reported by the South China Morning Post on February 13, 2018, YouTube and Instagram will be blocked in Russia starting Wednesday, February 14 if it refuses to delete the photos and videos.

The agency also instructed six Russian-language media to remove or replace articles related to Navalny's investigations.

Representatives of Facebook Inc., which owns Instagram, and its parent company, Alphabet Inc, declined to comment.

Navalny, banned from running against Vladimir Putin in Russia's presidential election in March 2018, held a massive online rally in Russia to reveal the corruption of a number of Russian ministers and top officials.

Last year Navalny inspired the biggest anti-government demonstrations since 2012 after releasing a video showing a luxury plantation allegedly belonging to Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. The video was later denied by Medvedev
