AS NUMBER 22 NORTH KOREAN ATLETS HAVE BEEN PROHIBITED TO GOVERNMENT AND INTERNET TELEPHONE

All North Korean athletes have refused to give SamsungGalaxy Note 8 smart phones from sponsors of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, South Korea.
Athletes do not want to violate UN Security Council sanctions against North Korea refusing to stop its nuclear weapons program.

A total of 22 North Korean athletes have been banned by the government to use the telephone and Internet network.
The UN Security Council banned the export of luxury goods to North Korea. So are products that can be used for military purposes.
Not only the smart phone, North Korean athletes do not receive ice hockey equipment and uniforms made in the United States.
In addition to North Korea, Iran has informed the South Korean Embassy about its athletes who are not allowed to accept cellular phone gifts as received by athletes from other countries taking part in the Winter Olympics.
The reason, Iran is sanctioned by the UN Security Council. However, it is unclear why Iranian athletes are prohibited from receiving the cell phone gift. The reason, Samsung's products are widely sold in Iran.
"Nearly 10 million Iranians have a Samsung phone," Reuters quoted Mirror.co.uk as saying on Thursday, February 8, 2018.
In addition, Iran and South Korea have good diplomatic relations. Likewise with the trade relations between the two countries.
Samsung, South Korea's electronics giant, is an Olympic sponsor and has distributed 4,000 cell phones to athletes and officials attending the 2018 Winter Olympics.
Samsung and the Olympic committee did not respond to North Korea and Iran for refusing the cell phone prize.
